Freshman Growth and Values 4th quarter prayer/Homily assignment


Your 4th quarter prayer assignment is to create your own homily. It is to be 5-7 minutes long and/or 2-3 pages. When you present your homily it can be typed/handwritten/on note cards, whatever works best for you to be able to deliver it. You will turn in on the day of your prayer a double spaced version of your homily in 12-pt font, times new roman.
You CANNOT forget your prayer day!

We will be going over many examples in class and learning what makes a good homily. You will need to base your homily of Bible passage, from the New Testament and it MUST be included in your turned in copy AND read before you present your homily to the class. In addition, you can work off of a theme, such as love, compassion, spiritual gifts, making tough choices, family, values, friendship, the list is endless.

Deadlines:
Due on FRIDAY MARCH 5th is a paragraph over viewing what you will be writing about, you may have just your passage chosen, or theme, but you MUST have a general idea of the directing you are going in.

Due on Tuesday March 9th is a rough draft of your entire homily. We will be meeting in groups and giving and receiving feedback from your classmates.

You will be graded on delivery/presentation, content, organization, and connection/application to audience.

BE CREATIVE! YOU CAN ALWAYS ASK ME FOR HELP!

Prayer will be worth then 100 points.
5 for paragraph
20 for rough draft
30 for delivery
45 for final version of Homily.
