1. What is your recommendation on how immigrants, specifically those without documentation, should be treated?
a. Are our present immigration laws working? If not, how could they be fixed – for those immigrants already in the U.S. and for those who want to immigrate? (Possibilities include amnesty, deportation, some form of path to citizenship which may include a waiting period, mastery of English, passing a citizenship test, etc.)
2. Should the United States build a fence along the U.S. – Mexico border as a first step in immigration reform?
3. Should the U.S. Congress attempt to amend the Constitution to ensure that babies born to illegal immigrants do not automatically become citizens, as is now the case?
4. In what ways do illegal immigrants enrich our culture and society?
5. In terms of economic costs and benefits, are illegal immigrants a positive or negative for the U.S. economy as a whole?
6. Why don’t our political leaders seem to have the will to tackle immigration reform, which almost everyone seems to agree needs to happen sooner or later?
